Pakistan is one of the few countries (India, Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan), where Polio Virus is still stalking innocent kids, and disabling them from a normal walking ability.

United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) is helping Pakistanis in Polio Vaccination drive, and trying to eradicate it forever from this territory. However, not everything goes as planned by the UNICEF offices in Pakistan.

Many people from middle and upper class do not trust the UNICEF volunteers, who are often not very much believable!

Watch a short clip about this problem, plus a tribute to all those who are helping Pakistan in this noble cause. Michael Jackson's most famous universal song "Heal the world" is being presented here as a backdrop to the Tribute Images.

پاکستان بد قسمتی سے ان چند ممالک میں سے ایک ہے، جہاں پولیو وائرس ابھی تک معصوم پاکستانی بچّوں کو شکار بنالیتا ہے۔ اقوام متحّدہ کا بچّوں کا فنڈ، یونی سیف، پاکستان سے اس مرض کو جڑ سے اکھاڑ کر پھینکنےکی کوششیں کررہا ہے، اور تمام چھوٹے بچّوں کو پولیو ویکسین کے قطرے پلائے جانے کی کوشش کی جارہی ہے۔

تاہم سب کچھ قابل اطمینان نہیں۔ درمیانہ اور اعلیٰ طبقات کے خاندان یونی سیف کے رضاکاروں پر بھروسہ نہیں کرتے، اور اپنے بچّوں کو ان کے ہاتھوں ویکسین قطرے پلانے سے گریز کرتے ہیں۔

لیکن اس وقت سب سے بڑا مسئلہ لوڈ شیڈنگ ہے۔ اس لوڈ شیڈنگ نے میرے ایک عزیز کے دو بچوں کی جان لے لی ۔ عزیز ہی کہہ لیجے کہ جن کے ساتھ تعلقات ہوتے ہیں وہ عزیز ہی ہو جا تے ہیں ۔ یہ بچے شادی میں شرکت کرنے اپنے ماں باپ کے ساتھ امریکہ سے لاہور آئے تھے ۔ وہ رات کو ایک کمرے میں سوئے ۔ کسی وقت بجلی گئی تو ان بچوں نے ہوا کے لئے کھڑکی کھول لی ۔ کھڑکی کے قریب ہی جنریٹر لگا ہوا تھا ۔ اس جنریٹر سے ڈیزل کی جو زہریلی بھاپ نکل رہی تھی وہ بھاپ ان معصوم بچوں کے لئے موت بن گئی ۔اس اندہ ناک سانحے سے ان بچوں کے ماں باپ یا ان کے دادا دادی اور نانا نانی پر جو گزری اس کا تو اندازہ ہی نہیں کیا جا سکتا لیکن ہم نے سنا تو ہم بھی سکتے میں آ گئے ۔ ان بچوں کا باپ ہمارے بچوں کے ساتھ کھیلا کرتا تھا۔ جب بھی یہ بھائی ملتان آتے تو اپنی خالہ اور ملتان کی معروف سماجی شخصیت عفت زکی کے بچوں اور ہمارے بچوں کے ساتھ کھیلا کرتے تھے ۔ یہ بچے ایسے ہی تھے جیسے ہمارے بچے ۔ یہ بچے بڑے ہو گئے اور ان کے اپنے بچے ہو گئے ۔ اور یہ امریکہ میں جا بسے ۔ لوڈ شیڈنگ کی نذر ہو نے والے بچوں کے ماں باپ کو تو اتنا غصہ تھا کہ انہوں نے اپنے بچوں کو پاکستان میں دفن کرنے سے ہی انکار کر دیا ۔ اور وہ دونوں کی میت لے کر امریکہ چلے گئے ۔ اس سے آپ ان کے صدمے کی شدت کااندازہ لگا سکتے ہیں ۔ دیکھ لیجے ، لوڈ شیڈنگ تو ہمارے لئے ایک عذاب تھی ہی اب یہ جنریٹر بھی عذاب بن گئے ہیں ۔ آپ کوئی بھی بازار لے لیجے۔ جیسے ہی بجلی جاتی ہے جنریٹر چلنا شروع ہو جا تے ہیں ۔ ادھر یہ جنریٹر چلے ادھر پورے بازار میں ڈیزل کی بد بو پھیل گئی ۔ اس کے بعد وہاں ٹھہرنا دو بھر ہوجاتا ہے ۔ بڑی بڑی دکا نوں والے تو اپنے شیشے کے دروازے بند کر کے زہریلے دھوئیں سے محفوط ہو جا تے ہیں لیکن راستہ چلنے والے اور خریدار یہ زہر اپنے پھیپھڑوں میں اتارتے رہتے ہیں ۔ بلکہ وہ دکان دار جو اپنے دروازے بند نہیں کرتے وہ بھی یہ زہر پیتے رہتے ہیں۔ادھرگھروں میں لگے ہوئے جنریٹر سارے محلے کو زہر آلود کرتے ہیں ۔ ابھی تک کسی ادارے نے سر وے نہیں کیا کہ ان جنریٹروں سے انسانوں کی صحت پر کیا اثر پڑ رہا ہے ۔ لیکن یقین ہے کہ اگر سروے کیا جا ئے تو نہایت ہی خطرناک ثبوت سامنے آئیں گے ۔یعنی یہ لوڈ شیڈنگ بے روز گاری اور مہنگائی میں ہی اضا فہ نہیں کر رہی ہے بلکہ ہماری جانیں بھی لے رہی ہے ۔ یہ ہمارے پھیپھڑوں میں زہر گھول رہی ہے ۔

گزشتہ دنوں اپنے ایک عزیز کے ہاں گزری، ڈیفنس، کراچی جانا ہوا۔ شام کا وقت تھا۔ بجلی کی بچت کا وقت ہوگیا، اور بجلی چلی گئی۔ میرے عزیز کے پڑوسیوں نے اپنے لان میں رکھا ڈیزل جنریٹر چلادیا، جس کے دھویں نے ہماری حالت غیر کردی۔ ہم بھی اپنےعزیز کے گھر میں لان میں بیٹھے تھے, جن کے ہاں یو پی ایس کی مدد سے چند آلات کام کررہے تھے۔ تاہم، پڑوس کی صورت حال کے پیش نظر کسی بھی شکایت کا کیا جانا اور اس جنریٹر کا اس وقت بند کیا جانا ممکن نظر نہ آیا۔

اس تجربہ کے بعد ہماری آنکھیں مزید کھلیں۔ ہم آتے جاتے جوہرموڑ روڈ پر عظیم رہائشی پراجیکٹ روفی لیک ڈرائیو کے فلیٹس، اور ان کے نیچے موجود تجارتی سرگرمیاں دیکھتے رہتے تھے۔ مزید غور و خوض کرنے سے یہ انکشاف ہوا کہ یہاں تو معاملہ بہت ہی سنجیدہ اور رنجیدہ ہے۔

چنانچہ آپ کے لیے یہ ایک مختصر رپورٹ پیش خدمت ہے۔ یاد رکھیے کہ اسی قسم کے ڈیزل جنریٹرز سے خارج ہونے والی زہریلی گیس سے دو نوجوان بچّے جاں بحق ہوچکے ہیں۔ یہ تفصیل جناب مسعود اشعر صاحب نے اپنے ایک حالیہ مضمون میں جنگ اخبارمیں ۲۲ اپریل ۲۰۱۰ کو دی تھی۔

Recently we visited one of our relations at Gizri, Defense, Karachi. It was late afternoon, and electricity load shedding time came upon us. Our relatives' neighbours started their diesel generator kept and installed in their own lawns. Since we too were sitting in the lawns of the other home, we were deeply affected by the poisonous emissions of the large diesel generator.

Later we paid more attention to this phenomenon at places that we visit quite often, including the Multi-Buildings High Rise complex of Rufi Lake Drive, Gulistane Jauhar. And we were highly surprised by the level of problems faced by the residents of this great flats project.

Recently our dear Mr. Masood Asha'ar, in his column published on 22 April 2010 in daily Jang Urdu, Karachi, had reported about the death of two young men, that he knew, who were killed by similar poisonous gases emanating from a diesel generator.

A Few Tips on Energy Management:

(From a US State Advisory)

Conserve Energy:

Conserving energy is the first and most effective weapon against rolling blackouts.

Use timers and compact fluorescents for indoor/outdoor lighting, turn off computers, and copy and fax machines, minimize air conditioning use.

Shift Power Use to Off-Peak Hours:

Rolling blackouts happen during the periods of peak energy demand. Using equipment during off-peak hours dramatically reduces your chances of experiencing a blackout during operation—and also may save you money.

Brainstorm and Plan Ahead:

Challenge your organization / house-hold to come up with a plan for rolling blackouts, and to identify ways to conserve energy.

Use Battery Backup Systems:

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems can keep critical computers, fans and networks operational during a typical rolling blackout, at a much lower cost than backup generators.

If You Must Have Back-Up Power:

Buy or rent the smallest unit you can use, use it only when absolutely necessary, and consider the following options (in this order):

1-A natural gas or propane fired unit with catalytic controls.

2- A natural gas or propane-fired unit with no catalytic controls.

3- A gasoline-fired unit with catalytic controls.

4-A gasoline-fired unit with no catalytic controls.

5-A diesel-fired unit manufactured since January 1996 that is certified to meet EPA and CARB Tier 1 Emission Standards, and equipped with an exhaust particulate filter system. (US Standards)

A street water stream in Gulistane Jauhar Karachi

JustujuTV — May 01, 2010 — A water line leakage in Block 18 of Gulistane Jauhar, Karachi for past over 1-1/2 year. It turns in to a small riverine when water supply is started by Water Board every other day of the week. Such dirty water is the number 1 cause of hepatitis disease in Pakistan.

Vegetable vendors, Flower vendors, Fish vendors, and many other "thirsty" souls come here to obtain this germs filled water, and use it for various purposes. Here in this video you can see a Bengali Beggar Girl and her mother filling up a drinking water bottle, and a flower vendor filling up his water cans.

In the largest show-case city of Pakistan, a city of teeming 18 million people the highs and lows of life can be observed easily.

Here is a large looming apartment building at Jauhar Chowrangi, BASERA apartments, that depicts the high-rise, high-life development in Karachi. Right under its nose the poor fetch some drinking and daily use water from an "un-natural fountain" of dirty water.

Unsuspecting consumers do not know why they get sick due to such highly objectionable practices.

یہاں آپ گلستان جوہر میں، جوہر چورنگی کے قریب سروس روڈ پر نمودار ہونے والا ایک غیرقدرتی چشمہ دیکھ سکتے ہیں۔ اس چشمہ سے سبزی فروش، مچھلی فروش، پھول والے، اور دیگر غریب افراد بھی مستفید ہوتے ہیں۔

اس وڈیو میں آپ ایک غریب بنگالی فقیر لڑکی اور اس کی ماں کو دیکھ سکتے ہیں، جو پینے کے پانی کی ایک خالی بوتل بھر رہے ہیں۔ اس طرح ایک پھول فروش اپنے پانی کے کین بھررہا ہے۔

جوہر چورنگی پر بسیرا اپارٹمنٹ کی فلک بوس عمارت اور اس کے مکین اپنی ناک کے سامنے موجود اس معاشرتی مظہر سے لاتعلّق سے نظر آتے ہیں۔ اسی طرح شہری حکومت کے کارپرداز بھی اس چشمہ سے گزشتہ ڈیڑھ برس سے اغماض برت رہے ہیں۔

معصوم شہری، جو اس پانی کے استعمال سے پیدا ہونے والی بیماریوں کا شکار، اپنی روزمرہ کی خریداری کی وجہ سے ہوجاتے ہوں گے، انہیں اس امر کا قطعی ادراک نہیں ہوسکتا کہ ان کے پاکستانی بھائی کس طرح ان کی صحتوں سے کھیل رہے ہیں۔ اسی قسم کا تلوّث شدہ پانی ہیپاٹائٹس مرض کی ایک بڑی وجہ ہے۔

کراچی شہری حکومت نے ایک اور اچھا ترقّیاتی پراجیکٹ شروع کردیا ہے۔

The City Government Karachi has embarked upon another fine development project for Karachiites.

ہجومی اوقات میں شارع فیصل پر ٹیپو سلطان روڈ، اور محمودآباد نرسری جنکشن پر جو ایک دوسرے سے ایک کلومیٹر کے فاصلہ پر ہیں، ٹریفک کو کچھ رکاوٹ کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے۔

Sharae Faisal, in rush hours, has two nuisance spots. The Tippu Sultan link road and Mahmoodabad Signal, both within a kilometer of each other.

اگرچہ کراچی والے اس دشواری کے ساتھ زندگی بسر کررہے تھے، اور کرسکتے ہیں، مگر خدا بھلا کرے ان اہم ترین شخصیات کا، جنہیں یہ برا لگتا ہے۔ وہ اسے اپنے لیے ایک ریسنگ ٹریک بنانا چاہتے ہیں۔

Though the Karachiites could live with this, the VVIPs using this key road in Karachi were fed up with this. So, they found a solution, that will gradually help Sharae Faisal in becoming a "non-stop fun" ground for VVIP entourages.

اگر دیکھا جائے تو یہ سگنل اس مصروف شارع پر کچھ راحت فراہم کرتا تھا۔ راشد منہاس روڈ کا شارع فیصل سے اتصال کا نقطہ اس امر کا متقاضی ہے کہ یہاں ٹریفک کو چلانے کے لیے شارع فیصل کا ٹریفک چند لمحوں کے لیے روک دیا جائے۔ اگرچہ اس کا بھی ایک حل ہے، کہ ناتھا خان پل کے نیچے سے ایک یو ٹرن بنا دیا جائے، مگر فوجی تنصیبات اور ریلوے لائن اس میں آڑے آتی ہیں۔

In hindsight, a short stop at this signal provided some relief at the Rashid Minhas-Sharae Faisal inter-section near Drigh Road Railway station. Now there will be more pressure built up for this spot, as still a solution for this signal has not been adopted. (There is one possibility of using Natha Khan Goath bridge as an under-pass.)

ایک مسئلہ یہ بھی ہے کہ تمام تر شارع فیصل پر کہیں بھی ہنگامی ضرورت کے لیے کار، موٹرسائیکل، ٹرک وغیرہ کھڑا کرنے کے لیے کوئی مناسب جگہیں مخصوص نہیں کی گئی ہیں۔ اگر گاڑی کو بس اسٹاپ پر روک دیا جائے تو ٹریفک پولیس چالان کرنے حاضر ہوجاتی ہے۔ یہ ہے ان کا طریقہ شہریوں سے اظہار محبّت اور ہمدردی کا۔

Another problem noticed at Sharae Faisal Karachi is that there are no PitStops and a road shoulder for people to park their vehicles in case of emergencies and needs. This causes an issue that if the vehicles are parked at any bus stop, the police is GLAD to issue a Challan / Traffic Ticket. So much for the love of the city.

اس کے علاوہ ٹریفک کے بہاؤ میں روانی جتنی بڑھتی جاتی ہے، اتنا ہی پیدل چلنے والوں کی مصیبت بھی بڑھتی جاتی ہے۔ اگرچہ حکومت چند "عبورنی پل" بنارہی ہے، وہ نہ صرف بہت کم ہیں، بلکہ ان کا طرز تعمیر بھی نہایت ہی بھدا ہے۔ ان میں جمالیات اور فن کی کمی صاف نظر آتی اور کھلتی ہے۔ اور پھر اس پر مستزاد یہ کہ ان میں سے چند پر پیشہ ور گداگروں نے قبضہ کرلیا ہے، اور یہ لوگ موجودہ امن کی صورت حال میں خطرات کا باعث بھی ہیں۔ چند "عبورنی پل" ایسے بھی ہیں جن پر چلنے والے نظر نہیں آسکتے کیونکہ اشتہار بازوں نے انہیں ڈھک دیا ہے۔ اس طرح پیدل چلنے والوں کے لیے سماج دشمن عناصر سے لٹ جانے کے خطرات رونما ہورہے ہیں۔ اسی طرح یہ "عبورنی پل" سر شام ہی اندھیروں میں ڈوب جاتے ہیں، جس سے انہیں استعمال کرنے میں ہچکچاہٹ ہوتی ہے۔

In addition to this, watch here a few problems of Pedestarian bridges in Karachi. Not only their architecture is dull, they do not have a lighting system for the night time usage, and many professional beggars have made them their hideout. Also, at a few places advertisement boards have been placed in an in-appropriate manner, hiding the crossing. That poses certain dangers to innocent passers.

کراچی (اسٹاف رپورٹر)ایڈمنسٹریٹر کراچی فضل الرحمان نے ہدایت کی ہے کہ کراچی واٹراینڈ سیوریج بورڈ شارع فیصل ٹیپوسلطان روڈ پربرساتی نالے کی تعمیر کے کام کو تیزکرے اور 10 یوم کے اندر اندر نالے پر چھت ڈال کر سٹی حکومت کے حوالے کرے تاکہ ٹیپوسلطان روڈ فلائی اوورکے کام کو بلارکاوٹ جاری رکھاجاسکے۔ ایڈمنسٹریٹر کراچی نے ای ڈی او ورکس اینڈسروسز رشید مغل‘ ای ڈی او میونسپل سروسز مسعود عالم‘ کراچی واٹراینڈ سیوریج بورڈ کے چیف انجینئرمحمدعارف اوردیگر افسران کے ہمراہ اتوار اورپیرکی درمیانی شب شارع فیصل اورٹیپوسلطان روڈ کا دورہ کیا‘ جہاں ای ڈی او ورکس اینڈسروسز رشید مغل نے ایڈمنسٹریٹرکوبریفنگ دی۔ واٹراینڈسیوریج بورڈ کے افسران نے اس موقع پر کہاکہ 5 یوم کے اندر اندر نالے پر چھت ڈال کر سٹی حکومت کے حوالے کردیاجائے گا ‘ایڈمنسٹریٹر کراچی فضل الرحمان نے اس موقع پر ہدایت کی کہ شہرکے وسیع تر مفاد میں واٹربورڈ دن رات کام کرکے اس منصوبے کو فوری طورپر مکمل کرے تاکہ فلائی اوورکے کام کو بھی تسلسل کے ساتھ جاری رکھاجاسکے ‘انہوں نے کہاکہ 3 ماہ کے اندر اندر اس منصوبے کومکمل کرکے ٹریفک کے لیے کھولنا ہے‘ لہٰذا اس کا تعمیراتی کام ایک دن بھی نہیں روکاجاسکتا۔ انہوں نے ای ڈی او ورکس اینڈ سروسز کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ روزانہ کی بنیادپر رپورٹ پیش کریں تاکہ منصوبے کے کام میں حائل رکاوٹوں کو دورکیاجاسکے۔

جناب حمایت علی شاعر ایک محبوب شخصیت کے مالک ہیں۔ وہ ایک منفرد شاعر، ایک خوب صورت اور نغمہ ریز آہنگ کی شاعری کرتے رہے ہیں۔ 1960 سے آج تک ان کے نغموں، شاعری، اور ڈراموں اور فلموں نے لاتعداد لوگوں کے دل جیتے ہیں۔

Mr. Himayat Ali Shayer is a very lovable person. An Urdu poet of distinction. His melodious poetry has won him accolades, and many awards, and the hearts of his readers and listeners since early 1960s. Famous French philosopher, Voltaire (1694-1778), says that to me a real poet is who touches the soul, and gives it a spirit. Poetry is capable of describing more in a few words than the prose. So, the credit of introducing a new genre in Urdu poetry goes to Mr. Himayat Ali Shayer, who introduced "Trinity", a 3 lined poetry form in Urdu poetry.

آپ پرائڈ آف پرفارمنس یافتہ پاکستانی ہیں۔ جناب حمایت علی، تخلص "شاعرؔ" اورنگ آباد، غیرمنقسم ہندوستان، برطانوی ہندوستان، میں لگ بھگ 1927 میں پیدا ہوئے۔ ان کی تاریخ پیدائش ریکارڈ نہیں ہے، مگر زمانہ اسی سن کے آس پاس ہے۔ اورنگ آباد حیدرآباد دکن سے شمال مغرب میں، اور تاریخی اور پراسرار اجنتا اور ایلورا کے غاروں کے قریب واقع ہے۔ آپ 1951 میں کراچی آگئے۔ تاہم، انہوں نے کراچی کے ہنگاموں کی نسبت حیدرآباد سندھ کے نسبتاّ پرسکون علاقہ میں رہنا پسند کیا۔
A winner of Pride of Performance of Pakistan Award, Mr. Shayer (his poetic alias) was born circa 1927 in Aurangabad, a historical city in the cetral-western region of undivided India. This city is in the north west of Hyderabad. He migrated to Pakistan in 1951. He came to Karachi, and soon found a writer's refuge in Hyderabad Sindh, the calm of which suited his intellectual inclinations.

ان کی ابتدائی تعلیم بارہویں جماعت تک، اورنگ آباد کے ایک ایسے اسکول میں ہوئی، جسے بابائے اردو، مولوی عبدالحق نے قائم کیا تھا۔ دل چسپ امر یہ ہے کہ ہجرت کے بعد بھی وہ بابائے اردو کے کراچی میں قائم کردہ کالج میں پڑھتے رہے۔ بعد میں انہوں نے سندھ یونی ورسٹی سے 1964 میں ماسٹرز کیا۔
He got his early education in a high school founded by none other than the legendary Baba e Urdu, Maulvi Abdul Haque. Later he was lucky to again study in Urdu college, Karachi, also founded by Maulvi Saheb. He later did his Masters in 1964 from Sindh University.

انہوں نے اپنے بچپن کی ساتھی، اور اپنی پسندیدہ لڑکی، معراج نسیم سے نوعمری میں ہی شادی کرلی۔ بدقسمتی سے ان کی بیگم ایک طویل اور بہترین رفاقت کے بعد 2002 میں ٹورونٹو میں جگر کے سرطان کے سبب انتقال کرگئیں، اور وہیں پکرنگ کے قبرستان میں مدفون ہیں۔
He married early, with his childhood love, Mairaj Naseem. She passed away in 2002 in Toronto, where she is buried at Pickering graveyard. She had developed liver cancer, which became un-treatable by the time it wad diagnosed.

شاعرؔ صاحب کے 4 لڑکے اور 4 لڑکیاں ہیں۔ یہ سب اعلیٰ تعلیم یافتہ، اور اچھے مقامات پر اپنے ماہرانہ میدانوں میں فائز ہیں۔
Himayats have 4 sons and 4 daughters. They all are highly educated, married, and well placed in their respective professional fields.

جناب حمایت علی شاعر صاحب اپنی نغمہ ریز شاعری، رومانوی گیتوں، قومی نغموں، ڈراموں کی وجہ سے تمام اردو دنیا میں معروف اور مقبول ہیں۔
Mr. Himayat Alis Shayer is well known for his highly melodious poetry, romantic songs, national songs, his films, his plays, and above all his everlasting Urdu poetry.

اردو شاعری میں ان کا ایک کارنامہ ایک نئی صنف "ثلاثی" - سہ سطری شاعری- ہے۔ انہوں نے اسے "تثلیث" کا نام دیا تھا، مگر اس کی عیسائیت سے نسبت کی وجہ سے اس کا نام تبدیل کردیا۔ اس صنف کو جاپانی ہائیکو، اور پنجابی ماہیہ سے قریب قراردیا گیا ہے، مگر تکنیکی اعتبار سے یہ ایک مختلف صنف ہے۔ ثلاثی میں کوئی بھی بحر استعمال کی جاسکتی ہے، جبکہ ہائیکو میں کچھ پابندیاں ہیں۔ تفصیلات جستجو ٹی وی سے حمایت علی شاعر صاحب کی گفتگو میں ملاحظہ فرمائیں۔
He introduced a new genre in Urdu poetry, called "Thulaathi" ثلاثی . He originally named it "Trinity" but owing to its religious connotations, he changed it to Thulaathi, which means 3 lines, or a poetic 3 liner stanza. This new genre is compared with Japanese Hyko, and Punjabi Mahiya. But technically Thulaathi is different. It can use any rhyming scheme that suits the mood and subject.

انہوں نے اردو ادب میں ایک اور منفرد کارنامہ اپنی سوانح عمری شاعرانہ انداز میں قلم بند کرکے کیا ہے۔ اس کا نام "آئینہ در آئینہ" ہے، اور یہ تین ہزار سے زائد اشعار پر مشتمل ہے۔ اسے اپنے انداز و قسم کی اردو کی طویل ترین پابند نظم کا اعزاز بھی حاصل ہے۔
He has also set a new milestone by writing his complete biography in classical poetry genre. It is called Ayena Dar Ayena آئینہ در آئینہ۔

اب شاعر صاحب کی عمر 80 برس سے زائد ہے، مگر اردو ادب اور قومی خدمت کا جذبہ میں ان میں توانا ہے۔ اب اپنے تخلیقی سفر میں انہوں نے ایک نئی منزل کا تعین کررکھا ہے، اور وہ ہے سندھی مٹی کا قرض اس طرح اتارنا کہ سندھی کی عوامی کہانیوں کو ڈرامائی شاعری میں تبدیل کرکے اردو میں پیش کرنا۔ اس پر کام تقریباّ مکمّل ہے۔ اور یہ "مہران موج" کے نام سے زیر اشاعت ہے۔
Now over 80 years of age, he is by grace of god in good spirits and health. He says his creative journey continues and he has set for himself a new target: he is translating Sindhi Folk Stories into Urdu poetic drama. This is his way of paying back for the love and respect that he got from the land of Sindh, Pakistan, and its natives.

انہوں نہ صرف پاکستانی فلموں کے لیے گیت تحریر کیے، بلکہ ان کی کہانیاں بھی لکھیں، اور فلموں میں ہدایت کاری کی، اور پروڈیوس بھی کیں۔سانحہ مشرقی پاکستان کے بعد انہوں نے یہ کام غیرمنافع بخش ہوجانے کے سبب ترک کردیا۔ اور سندھ یونی ورسٹی میں تدریس شروع کردی۔
He has not only written songs for the Pakistani movies, but also wrote their stories, directed and produced some until the fall of East Pakistan in 1971. The market became too narrow and unprofitable then, says Mr. Himayat Ali Shayer. Then he started teaching at Sindh University, Jamshoro.

بجیا پہلی ستمبر 1930 کو پنج بی بی پہاڑی کے نزدیک ایک قصبہ میں، کرناٹک، حیدرآباد دکن، غیرمنقسم ہندوستان میں‌پیدا ہوئیں۔ آپ 10 بھائی بہن ہیں۔ ان میں سے دو بہنیں اور ایک بھائی اب حیات نہیں ہیں۔

Ms. Fatima Suraiyya Hameedi Khatoon was born on 1 September 1930, near "Panj Bibi Mountain", in Karnatak, Hyderabad Deccan, British India. She migrated to Pakistan soon after independence, along with her family.

Affectionately known as "Bajiya" (Elder Sister) all over the world, she is an amazing lady. Her total education took place inside her home, and she was tutored by her grand maternal uncle Nawab Nisar Ahmed Khan, Bahadur Yar Jang. This title was given to him by the Emir of Deccan, an independent state up to 1948. Later it was forcibly taken over by Indian armed personnel, dethroning its Emirs.

Bajiya and her brothers and sisters were 10 in numbers. For more details about them, watch the program and listen to Bajiya.

Fatima Suraiyya Bajiya, has won over 900 awards. She is most delighted to have received the award from Emperor of Japan, for her assistance in translating Japanese poetry in to Urdu. She is also a recipient of Pakistani Pride of Performance Award.

Bajiya has been a prolific writer. She made her inroads in to the realm of literature when she was still in her sweet sixteenth year of age. She wrote an Urdu Novel, titled "Muslim Samaaj" (Muslim Society). Justuju Media is trying to obtain it for you, to publish it on the internet in near future.

Bajiya is well known for her Urdu plays (dramas) that have been turned in to Television Serials mostly by PTV from early 1960s, the days of infancy of Television in Pakistan. She has written plays for stage, and Radio too. She represents the old guard of Pakistani morals, and is not satisfied with the cultural representation of Pakistan by the new age media. She believes and suggests that a writer should always give prominence to goodness in the society.

Her total literary works also remain to be collected, preserved, and processed in to a single volume. Among others, some of her better known plays are: 1- Shama, Afshaan, Urusa, Zeenat, Anaa, Agaahi, Aab Geenay, Baabar, Tareekh wa Tamseel, Ghar aik Nagar, Farz aik Qarz, Phool Rahi Sarson, Tasveer e Kaainaat, Asaavari, and her first long play Mehmaan.

In this program, first of a series on her life, she recounts some of the antics of his favourite brother, who is also adored by Urdu Humour lovers wrold over, Anwar Maqsood. Find out why Anwar converted himself in to a Dracula, and what were the results of this prank in his early young age.

Unfortunately, she had a remission of her throat cancer, and was admitted to hospital recently. She has undergone a major throat surgery at AKUH, Karachi, and is recuperating now a days at home. We wish her full recovery, best of health, happiness, and a very long and blessed life.

Pakistanis celebrated their 70th anniversary of Lahore Resolution, presented on March 23, and approved on March 24, 1940, at Manto Park, Lahore. This place is now known as Iqbal Park, and a towering Minar Monument stands tall there to mark this historic moment of life of Indian Muslims. At this time their demand for independent Muslim areas within the Indian Continent had not been named as PAKISTAN. Though Choudhry Rahmat Ali, still buried in England, had suggested this name. On approval of this Resolution, the Hindu opposition named it as Pakistan Resolution, and thus it came to be known as such from that point on.

The world and its components, the countries and territories, require a management of its resources, its people, and follow a set of laws and practices to remain a peaceful and dignified country. Thus it requires a Vision, a Mission, and a set of Values to abide by to progress. Both in terms of Morals, and Economics.

Jack Welch, the ex CEO of General Electric, in his landmark book, WINNING, has discussed the importance of Values in running an organization. Each modern business and NGO has a set of values that it teaches to its staff. So that they continue to work and progress within a set course of directions, policies and procedures. These sound like: We work together, We respect each other, and so on.

So, what about a set of Pakistani National Values!

We discuss this interesting management technique, and take the Pakistani founder leader, Quaid e Azam (Great Leader) Mohammad Ali Jinnah's famous 3 words: Unity, Discipline, and Faith as the core set of Pakistani values. Obviously, as a Muslim country, the faith in Islamic values is also ingrained in its people.

First of all we congratulate you on the passing of the new law about "Harassment of Women" in Pakistan. This law was long due. It can be argued though, that such a law was required since the days of Adam and Eve!

Its opposition by the Pakistani Political Right is something that still baffles us.

Part I of this Program:

Would you believe that it has been reported that the Harassment of Women is of some advantage to a certain section of the Pakistani society. At least one newspaper has reported in a manner that sounds like it ;-) . Read it, watch it, and enjoy.

Part II of the Program:

We also bring you a famous national song, honoring Pakistani women. This popular and moving national song has been written by no other than the great Pakistani poet, Jameeluddin Aali. This has been sung by Mahnaz and her troupe. Mahnaz troupe did make a mistake in one of the lines of the song. They sing: "Tareekh nai yeh likh diya, Insaan kee ibaadat hum sai hai", actually this line is: "Insaan ibaarat hum sai hai." Full text of this song is given at the end of this message.

پاکستانی خواتین کی شان میں جناب ڈاکٹر نواب زادہ مرزا جمیل الدین عالی نے ایک نہایت ہی دل کش اور مقبول ترانہ تحریر کیا۔ اسے مہناز اور ساتھیوں نے گایا۔ یہ نغمہ چند تصاویر اور معلومات کے ساتھ پیش خدمت ہے۔ مہناز اور اس ترانہ کے پروڈیوسرز سے ایک مغالطہ ہوا ہے، اور ایک مصرعہ، ایک سطر، اس ترانہ کی درست طور پر ادا نہیں کی گئی۔ اس میں ایک جگہ کہا گیا ہے " تاریخ نے خود لکھ دیا، ان کی عبادت ہم سے ہے"۔ دراصل یہ سطر اس طرح ہے:۔ " تاریخ نے خود لکھ دیا، انسان عبارت ہم سے ہے"۔ ریکارڈ کی درستگی کے لیے ہم یہ نغمہ، یہاں تحریر کر رہے ہیں۔
