جناب حمایت علی شاعر ایک محبوب شخصیت کے مالک ہیں۔ وہ ایک منفرد شاعر، ایک خوب صورت اور نغمہ ریز آہنگ کی شاعری کرتے رہے ہیں۔ 1960 سے آج تک ان کے نغموں، شاعری، اور ڈراموں اور فلموں نے لاتعداد لوگوں کے دل جیتے ہیں۔
مشہور فرانسیسی فلسفی، والٹیئر، [1694-1778] کا کہنا ہے کہ میرے نزدیک اصلی شاعر وہ ہے جو روح کو چھوتا، اور اسے گداز بخشتا ہے۔ وہ مزید کہتا ہے کہ شاعری کی ایک ایسی خوبی ہے جس سے کوئی انکار نہیں کرسکتا ۔۔۔ شاعری چند الفاظ میں نثر کے مقابلہ میں زیادہ بیان کرنے کی صلاحیّت رکھتی ہے۔ چنانچہ، جناب حمایت علی شاعر صاحب کو یہ اعزاز حاصل ہے کہ انہوں نے اردو شاعری کو سہ مصرعی مختصر ترین شاعری کی نئی جہتوں سے روشناس کرایا۔ انہوں نے ایک نئی صنف اردو شاعری، ثلاثی ایجاد کی۔
Mr. Himayat Ali Shayer is a very lovable person. An Urdu poet of distinction. His melodious poetry has won him accolades, and many awards, and the hearts of his readers and listeners since early 1960s. Famous French philosopher, Voltaire (1694-1778), says that to me a real poet is who touches the soul, and gives it a spirit. Poetry is capable of describing more in a few words than the prose. So, the credit of introducing a new genre in Urdu poetry goes to Mr. Himayat Ali Shayer, who introduced "Trinity", a 3 lined poetry form in Urdu poetry.
آپ پرائڈ آف پرفارمنس یافتہ پاکستانی ہیں۔ جناب حمایت علی، تخلص "شاعرؔ" اورنگ آباد، غیرمنقسم ہندوستان، برطانوی ہندوستان، میں لگ بھگ 1927 میں پیدا ہوئے۔ ان کی تاریخ پیدائش ریکارڈ نہیں ہے، مگر زمانہ اسی سن کے آس پاس ہے۔ اورنگ آباد حیدرآباد دکن سے شمال مغرب میں، اور تاریخی اور پراسرار اجنتا اور ایلورا کے غاروں کے قریب واقع ہے۔ آپ 1951 میں کراچی آگئے۔ تاہم، انہوں نے کراچی کے ہنگاموں کی نسبت حیدرآباد سندھ کے نسبتاّ پرسکون علاقہ میں رہنا پسند کیا۔
A winner of Pride of Performance of Pakistan Award, Mr. Shayer (his poetic alias) was born circa 1927 in Aurangabad, a historical city in the cetral-western region of undivided India. This city is in the north west of Hyderabad. He migrated to Pakistan in 1951. He came to Karachi, and soon found a writer's refuge in Hyderabad Sindh, the calm of which suited his intellectual inclinations.
ان کی ابتدائی تعلیم بارہویں جماعت تک، اورنگ آباد کے ایک ایسے اسکول میں ہوئی، جسے بابائے اردو، مولوی عبدالحق نے قائم کیا تھا۔ دل چسپ امر یہ ہے کہ ہجرت کے بعد بھی وہ بابائے اردو کے کراچی میں قائم کردہ کالج میں پڑھتے رہے۔ بعد میں انہوں نے سندھ یونی ورسٹی سے 1964 میں ماسٹرز کیا۔
He got his early education in a high school founded by none other than the legendary Baba e Urdu, Maulvi Abdul Haque. Later he was lucky to again study in Urdu college, Karachi, also founded by Maulvi Saheb. He later did his Masters in 1964 from Sindh University.
انہوں نے اپنے بچپن کی ساتھی، اور اپنی پسندیدہ لڑکی، معراج نسیم سے نوعمری میں ہی شادی کرلی۔ بدقسمتی سے ان کی بیگم ایک طویل اور بہترین رفاقت کے بعد 2002 میں ٹورونٹو میں جگر کے سرطان کے سبب انتقال کرگئیں، اور وہیں پکرنگ کے قبرستان میں مدفون ہیں۔
He married early, with his childhood love, Mairaj Naseem. She passed away in 2002 in Toronto, where she is buried at Pickering graveyard. She had developed liver cancer, which became un-treatable by the time it wad diagnosed.
شاعرؔ صاحب کے 4 لڑکے اور 4 لڑکیاں ہیں۔ یہ سب اعلیٰ تعلیم یافتہ، اور اچھے مقامات پر اپنے ماہرانہ میدانوں میں فائز ہیں۔
Himayats have 4 sons and 4 daughters. They all are highly educated, married, and well placed in their respective professional fields.
جناب حمایت علی شاعر صاحب اپنی نغمہ ریز شاعری، رومانوی گیتوں، قومی نغموں، ڈراموں کی وجہ سے تمام اردو دنیا میں معروف اور مقبول ہیں۔
Mr. Himayat Alis Shayer is well known for his highly melodious poetry, romantic songs, national songs, his films, his plays, and above all his everlasting Urdu poetry.
اردو شاعری میں ان کا ایک کارنامہ ایک نئی صنف "ثلاثی" - سہ سطری شاعری- ہے۔ انہوں نے اسے "تثلیث" کا نام دیا تھا، مگر اس کی عیسائیت سے نسبت کی وجہ سے اس کا نام تبدیل کردیا۔ اس صنف کو جاپانی ہائیکو، اور پنجابی ماہیہ سے قریب قراردیا گیا ہے، مگر تکنیکی اعتبار سے یہ ایک مختلف صنف ہے۔ ثلاثی میں کوئی بھی بحر استعمال کی جاسکتی ہے، جبکہ ہائیکو میں کچھ پابندیاں ہیں۔ تفصیلات جستجو ٹی وی سے حمایت علی شاعر صاحب کی گفتگو میں ملاحظہ فرمائیں۔
He introduced a new genre in Urdu poetry, called "Thulaathi" ثلاثی . He originally named it "Trinity" but owing to its religious connotations, he changed it to Thulaathi, which means 3 lines, or a poetic 3 liner stanza. This new genre is compared with Japanese Hyko, and Punjabi Mahiya. But technically Thulaathi is different. It can use any rhyming scheme that suits the mood and subject.
انہوں نے اردو ادب میں ایک اور منفرد کارنامہ اپنی سوانح عمری شاعرانہ انداز میں قلم بند کرکے کیا ہے۔ اس کا نام "آئینہ در آئینہ" ہے، اور یہ تین ہزار سے زائد اشعار پر مشتمل ہے۔ اسے اپنے انداز و قسم کی اردو کی طویل ترین پابند نظم کا اعزاز بھی حاصل ہے۔
He has also set a new milestone by writing his complete biography in classical poetry genre. It is called Ayena Dar Ayena آئینہ در آئینہ۔
اب شاعر صاحب کی عمر 80 برس سے زائد ہے، مگر اردو ادب اور قومی خدمت کا جذبہ میں ان میں توانا ہے۔ اب اپنے تخلیقی سفر میں انہوں نے ایک نئی منزل کا تعین کررکھا ہے، اور وہ ہے سندھی مٹی کا قرض اس طرح اتارنا کہ سندھی کی عوامی کہانیوں کو ڈرامائی شاعری میں تبدیل کرکے اردو میں پیش کرنا۔ اس پر کام تقریباّ مکمّل ہے۔ اور یہ "مہران موج" کے نام سے زیر اشاعت ہے۔
Now over 80 years of age, he is by grace of god in good spirits and health. He says his creative journey continues and he has set for himself a new target: he is translating Sindhi Folk Stories into Urdu poetic drama. This is his way of paying back for the love and respect that he got from the land of Sindh, Pakistan, and its natives.
انہوں نہ صرف پاکستانی فلموں کے لیے گیت تحریر کیے، بلکہ ان کی کہانیاں بھی لکھیں، اور فلموں میں ہدایت کاری کی، اور پروڈیوس بھی کیں۔سانحہ مشرقی پاکستان کے بعد انہوں نے یہ کام غیرمنافع بخش ہوجانے کے سبب ترک کردیا۔ اور سندھ یونی ورسٹی میں تدریس شروع کردی۔
He has not only written songs for the Pakistani movies, but also wrote their stories, directed and produced some until the fall of East Pakistan in 1971. The market became too narrow and unprofitable then, says Mr. Himayat Ali Shayer. Then he started teaching at Sindh University, Jamshoro.

His sons and daughters are settled in North America, and he often travels to and from those places. He has received honorary citizenship of Chicago, USA.
